這兩個針法常混用.名稱也混淆不清，在台灣一般稱之輪廓繡。
差別在於繡線放置的位置，為什麼要分這麼清楚呢?
因為做延伸針法時，就是根據這最基本的繡法做變化，非得要分的清清楚楚囉!
例如:交替輪廓繡(交替莖幹繡) Alternating stem stitch
就是stem 跟 outline各一針的組合
